Brother Mel Kirschner 32º KCCH & Laird of the Realm; passed away quietly at his home on January 20, 2006 - his service included a Masonic Service with many friends in attendance, full military honors including a live bugler and bagpiper. He was a Founding Charter Member of the Knights of St. Andrew for Long Beach, CA Scottish Rite.
Brother Kirschner was instrumental in helping us form the Knights of St. Andrew, Grand Forks Chapter. Our condolences go out to his family and friends everywhere. He will be missed.

Fellow Scottish Rite Brethren:
The Knights of St. Andrew, Grand Forks Chapter is currently being formed by fellow Brothers of the Grand Forks Scottish Rite. It is a 32º “Black Hat” organization that will exist to serve the Valley, increase the membership, and enhance the Scottish Rite experience for all involved. During the formation stage all members of the Valley are welcome to become Charter Members and be as active as they choose. After chartering, 33º and KCCH members will become Emeritus Members and may participate and be active, however, will not be permitted to hold office or vote. We are getting off to a great start and would like to have all interested members of the Valley of Grand Forks participate and become a Charter Member of this exciting new organization.
